IT’s finally here. After all the anticipation and hype; the biggest horror film of the year has arrived. We give our full verdict on IT and whether it lived up to expectations after a record breaking weekend at the box office. We’re sure this won’t be the last time we discuss this film on the show. Some of our listeners (that’s you!) also give their thoughts on the film that everyone is talking about. We wrap things up by talking about the premiere of American Horror Story and why we really hope they turn things around. IT is available now in cinemas worldwide. Follow us on Twitter @SHBPod

The second of our FrightFest special shows see us discuss the much maligned Death Note. The adaptation of the popular manga and anime arrived on Netflix recently and we have some thoughts. Viewing the film from two different perspectives (Matt has seen the anime, Mike has not), we discuss the good and the bad of one of the most debated films of 2017 so far. Also discussed is Creep 2’s release date and the Switch gets yet another fantastic game added to it’s library. Death Note is available now on Netflix worldwide. Follow us on Twitter @SHBPod

SPOILER FREE DISCUSSION FrightFest 2017 has sadly passed but now the fun begins for us as we get to discuss the films we saw this year. There’s only one place we can start and that is with the world premiere of Cult Of Chucky that opened this year’s festival. The seventh Chucky installment is officially out October 3rd and we give you the lowdown on whether this film should be on your radar or not. There will be also more films that we saw at FrightFest covered in the future so stay tuned for that. After all that excitement we briefly touch upon the Game of Thrones finale and why sometimes games that are on your backlog are there for a reason. Cult of Chucky is released worldwide on October 3rd on DVD, Blu-Ray & Digital Follow us on Twitter @SHBPod

In our childish anticipation of Jigsaw returning this Halloween; we thought now would be the perfect time to begin to look back on the franchise and give our thoughts on the highs and lows of Saw so far. This show will focus on the first three films as we cover everything from the original’s inception, how they successfully transitioned into a franchise with it’s sequel; and finally Jigsaw’s untimely demise in Saw III. This is also the last show before we attend Frightfest 2017 so we are full of excitement as this year’s festival begins once again. Follow us on Twitter @SHBPod

Annabelle: Creation is the latest entry in the extended Conjuring universe. Surely it can’t be as bad as the last Annabelle film right? We give you our verdict on this release and talk the potential for the overall franchise going forward. James Cameron continues to provide us with weekly Terminator updates with a little help from Arnold Schwarzenegger. We saw a early scene from IT and discuss why maybe it wasn’t the best idea to show us this particular scene. Finally we revive an old feature that can’t be killed off. Not even by Jamie Lee Curtis.

68 Kill is the story of one couple’s journey of mayhem as a robbery goes wrong and leads them both down a path where only bad things will happen. We check out this brand new comedy horror that just arrived on demand this past week and give a very strong verdict on if it’s worth checking out or not. There was a ton of horror news to get through including when we might see the return of Ash vs Evil Dead. We tackle the best found footage films for this week’s top 5 and really struggle to only fit 5 in. Finally we played Tacoma and Patapon and weren’t really impressed by either sadly.

Hounds of Love is the latest horror release to leave Australia and follows a sadistic couple who kidnap a young girl for their own entertainment. This film is from a first time writer and director and really blew us away. Certainly a good discussion to be had about this film. It’s trailers galore this week as we see our first glimpses at Jigsaw and Stranger Things 2. Our top 5 horror novel adaptations is maybe our strongest list to date and we also run through the listener suggestions before picking a winner for our first ever giveaway. We end this week on the highs and lows of a ink based shooter.

Downhill is an action, horror and sport hybrid. Is this the start of a new trend or a failed experiment that needs to never be seen or heard of again? Find out as we don’t hold back our opinions on this one. We talk about the unfortunate news of George Romero passing and the impact he has left on so many. Quentin Tarantino’s next film could be a Manson family flick. A forgotten horror is finally get a bluray release after 10 years. Game of Thrones has returned and we try not to laugh at that Ed Sheeran cameo too much. This week’s Top 5 sees us tackle anthology films. And we announce a giveaway involving next week’s Top 5.

We get very excited as we run through the lineup for this year’s Fright Fest and our plans for attending. This week’s featured film was actually at Fright Fest 2016 so we timed this right as we discuss the nostalgia trip known as Beyond the Gates. There is lots of new information and release dates on many of this year’s upcoming films including Leatherface. The Top 5 featured see us run down the very best vampire films ever made. And we end with another nostalgia trip in the form of a bandicoot named Crash.
